Students in grades K-8 complete 9 units and the correlating checkpoint worksheets each semester, submitting one worksheet every two weeks.The Curriculum Resource Directory will include links to online lesson materials that can be used as part of a unit study related to each unit’s checkpoint worksheet. The directory will supplement their selected course curriculum and to assist in planning and teaching each unit. Parents will have access to educational resources and the Flex Curriculum Resource Directory.Students then demonstrate competency by completing and submitting a Flex checkpoint worksheet for each unit. Parents support students in working through individualized units of studies that focus on each of the grade-level standards listed below. This enables our partner schools to review student work throughout the school year and to see measurable progress that correlates to state standards. Students enrolled in a Flex Direct course agree to submit the quizzes/worksheets by the due dates, and this meets the attendance requirement for these courses. Submitting quizzes/worksheets on time is an important aspect of a Flex Direct course. Mentors and instructors provide support as your children learn in dynamic ways.Curriculum and other learning materials for Flex Direct courses are provided by Harmony, at no cost to the family.
Student learning may be designed as unit studies, allowing creativity and flexibility to explore the topics of study.
Throughout the semester, students demonstrate their knowledge of the standards by completing Flex Direct quizzes or worksheets.
